We need to vote
all the Democrats and Republicans out of
office, but we also need to join together to protest
against the high level of political corruption and the extreme concentration of wealth and power the two party
system has created. The most effective action we can take is a
boycott of
all professional sports. It is also the easiest action we
can take as individuals and the least damaging to our economy.
Here is why a boycott of all professional sports will work: The
owners of the professional sports teams are billionaires, the
advertisers are billion dollar corporations, and the media companies
that broadcast the games are making billions of dollars because of
fans like you and me watch the games on television. If we, the fans,
suddenly stop being fans, we stop watching the games, we stop going
to the games, and we stop buying the team logo products this
multi-billion dollar industry will be pushed to the brink of bankruptcy in a matter of
months.
The sports team owners, advertisers, media companies, and players will
respond to this boycott by flooding
the halls of Congress with their lobbyist in an attempt to get our elected
leaders to do whatever we, the fans, want. This will send the following powerful message to our political
leaders: We are mad as hell and we
aren't going to take their corrupt lying evil bullshit any longer.
Maybe then our elected leaders will clean up their acts in the
following ways:
- by passing major campaign
finance reforms.
- by not adding to the federal debt.
- by not giving
any more of our tax dollars to the racist terrorist state of Israel.
- by not continuing or expanding the two wars in the Middle East.
- by
not allowing the super rich to continue avoiding their fair
share of the federal tax burden.
- by not allowing the big banks,
insurance companies, and other
financial businesses to keep scamming consumers and investors.
If
this boycott of professional sports fails we can expand our boycotts
to other industries, and we can start protesting, striking, and
committing acts of civil disobedience until we get new government
leaders who will represent us.
