Joe Stack's Manifesto & Business Website
(2/19/2010)
Yesterday, Joe Stack flew his small airplane into an
office building in Austin, Texas where the IRS had offices. Joe was
a good man, educated, hardworking, honest??, and fun, but Joe felt
like he was the victim of a grossly corrupt government that did not give a shit
about him, his small business, or his IRS problems, and he
was right.
However, in my mind the meaning of Joe's deadly action depends on the facts of Joe's tax
situation. Was Joe a tax cheat? If Joe was a tax cheat and he was
mad about the fact he kept getting caught cheating on his taxes then
fuck him and his terrorist action. However, if Joe really was the
victim of tax laws that are unfair and are not applied to everyone
equally then I say fuck the IRS and the government officials who
created this corrupt tax system.
Secondly, the only person Joe killed was a low level IRS employee
and none of the real criminals behind our corrupt government. Joe's
act of killing random people who might have been working for the IRS
was a weak act of rebellion and I feel very sorry for the victim's
family. If Joe was right about needing to create a "body count" to
wake the American people up to the fact they are being lied to and
ripped-off he should have chosen his victim(s) more carefully.
Finally, I don't know if Joe was a tax cheat but I do know that the
tax system in America is corrupt, unfair, and highly regressive, and
our elected leaders, from both parties, are responsible. The current
system taxes self-employed people making around $100k per year more
than anyone else in our society. The $12+ trillion dollar federal
debt, and the $1 billion dollar per day interest cost on the debt,
are really future taxes on the productivity of American workers;
your children and your children's children.
Joe explains his situation and expresses his feelings in the following
six page anti-government letter (manifesto) he posted to his business website
shortly before he committed murder-suicide.
