Republican Party

The Republican party has become the party that supports the needs and wants of billionaires. Their solutions to all America's problems are huge tax cuts for the richest people in America. They lie about their legislation and then point fingers when the shit hits the fan. Their legislative actions, and results (including huge deficits), prove that they cannot be considered the party of financial conservatism. Their priorities appear to be centered about tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans regardless of the long term cost to our country. They have recently opposed common sense gun control, labor unions, hate crime legislation, increases in the minimum wage, and increases in education spending. They have recently supported very large increases in military spending, repealing environmental laws, expanding free trade deals, huge tax cuts for the richest Americans, and giant retro-active tax rebates for big corporations, like Enron. Think of the Republican party this way: The American people are the modern day "native Americans" and the Republican party represents the modern day "white settlers", and we all know what happens to the "native Americans", they were tricked, lied to, they had their land taken, their food supply destroyed, they were slaughtered for a bounty on their scalps, and they were forced to live on reservations. We must not allow the Republican leaders to fool us again because this time the "trail of tears" will be from your own eyes.

Democrat Party

The Democrats are not much better than the Republicans since they are both getting their money from many of the same people. But the Democrats have proven, through their actions, that they are the party of smaller government, lower deficits, stronger Social Security, better health care, proper financial management, real campaign finance reforms, and a higher minimum wage. Democrats are usually only able to raise about half of the money that the Republican party raises and this imbalance is unfortunately causing the Democrat party to move to the right, ideologically. Who in our government is left to represent the interest of workers in America? The Democrats should be winning all the elections because of their ideology and their recent history of conservative economic leadership but they are not for the following reasons: 1. Far to many Democrats vote with the Republicans on Republican legislation that is bad for our system of democracy. 2. Democrats have supported and passed legislation that has been harmful to their biggest supporters; labor unions, trial lawyers, the middle class, and the poor. 3. To many Democratic candidates are selected based on their ability to raise money and not on their progressive ideology. 4. Democrats have failed to expose the Republicans totally corrupt, non-conservative, pro-corporation, and pro-super rich guy political ideology. 5. Democrats have allowed the wealth of America to become way to concentrated in the hands of a few people through regressive tax law changes and other special interest legislation. 6. Democrats have allowed media ownership to become to concentrated into the hands of to few people.

Reform Party

The Reform Party without Ross Perot is like a ice cream without the cream. They have a great platform but they have lost their luster without Ross leading the way. Pat Buchanan and John Hagelin are both extreme right-wingers who promote 90% good proposals, but it is their 10% bad proposals that expose their real right-wing goals. Don't be fooled by these reformers, they appear to be Republicans in disguise.

Green Party

Ralph Nader has given the Green Party vision and direction. The Green Party has a great platform and is educating a lot of Americans about how wealthy individuals and large corporations are corrupting the political process and are hurting workers. This party is offering real solutions that will save our democracy, and that will help us take our country back. This party represents the soul of America, and not the wealthy special interest. (Special Note About Ralph Nader - I lost a lot of respect for Mr. Nader following the 2000 election. If he is really the brilliant progressive, that I believed he was, he would have dropped out of the race a few days before the vote and told all his supporters to vote for Gore. But instead, he stayed in the race and let the chips fall where they did, and we got Bush. Nader failed to serve this country in a big way and I will forever hold that against him.)

Libertarian Party

This party is an extreme right-wing Republican type party selling the same phony Republican tax cut platform using the same Republican rhetoric, with the exception of their position on illegal drugs. Don't be fooled by the freedom and liberating themes, this party's platform will not deliver these types of results. These people need some spreadsheet software and some lessons in balancing budgets and understanding proforma financial statements.

Workers are paying almost all the bills while corporations are paying less and less!

Social Security is in surplus, it is defense spending and interest on the huge federal debt that are busting the budget!

A higher standard of living, no federal debt, no war in Vietnam, greater energy independence, stronger social safety net programs, cleaner environment, better health care, a more progressive tax code, better regulations, better trade deals, a more open and honest government, and a stronger democracy.

Fun Fact: John F. Kennedy wanted to end U.S. actions in Vietnam (NSANT 263), he wanted to close down the Federal Reserve Bank and issue Treasury notes (Exec. Order 11110), he fired Dulles and wanted to close down the CIA, he was going to get rid of LBJ and Hoover, he and his brother were going after major organized crime people, he did not support a war with Cuba, and he wanted to pass and enforce strong civil rights laws in America. Robert Kennedy said that the first thing he would do after he was elected President was to reopen the investigation into his brothers assassination.
