Bush Awards Contract To Accenture
& The American People Lose
(6/5/2005) The Bush administration
did something that should cause every American citizen to sit up and take notice. On
6/1/2004 they awarded a foreign based corporation, Accenture, a contract for $10 billion
dollars. What makes this so shocking and un-American is that the contract is for Homeland
Security information systems and services and Accenture is a foreign corporation based out
of Bermuda. Accenture is only foreign based to avoid paying taxes to the U.S. government.
Accenture won this government contract over several other American based companies.
This deal sends a loud message to all American based
corporations that they are all fools for staying in the U.S. and paying U.S. taxes. And it
should send a message to all the American citizens that the Bush administration is not
only insensitive to American workers and American based corporation, both of who are
paying more taxes because of companies like Accenture, but is also incredibly lax about
our national security, trade policies, and our government's fiscal health.
Unfortunately,
this bad decision is not an isolated case for the Bush administration, but rather just
another in a series of bad decisions that have cost the American people a mountain of
their tax dollars, good paying jobs, and respect from our allies. Following are some
examples of the Bush administration's gross malfeasance:
The Bush
administration has been encouraging American companies to outsource some of their
employees to foreign countries.
Since the Bush administration started in 2000 the U.S. has lost over
2 million manufacturing jobs. Bush tried to cover-up this fact by getting fast-food
workers reclassified as manufacturing workers.
The Bush administration is pushing hard to make his tax cuts
permanent at a time when the federal government is running huge record deficits and is
spending all the Social Security surpluses.
Bush refused to intervene when his largest campaign contributor,
Enron, and some of its cohorts like Reliant and Duke, were criminally conspiring to
exploit the newly deregulated energy markets in California to the tune of over $6 billion
dollars.
Bush sent our soldiers into a war in Iraq based on a lie, and
without proper safety equipment, troop re-enforcement's, good intelligence planning, or an
exit strategy. Now there are over 1,650 American soldiers dead, over 100,000 innocent
Iraqis dead, and the insurgents are only getting bolder and more violent. Bush, Cheney,
Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, and Rice continue to claim that things are going great in their war
on terrorism.
Bush acted uninformed, unaccountable, and unconcerned about the
murders, tortures, and aggravated assaults at Abu Ghraib prison.
Bush is in denial about global warming while he continues to
rolled-back environmental laws, and gives huge tax breaks to oil, gas, and coal companies.
Bush used false attack ads against John Kerry's record of public
service to America while continuing to break all previous fundraising records.
Bush cut overtime pay requirements, refuses to raise the minimum
wage, and continues to lavish tax cuts on this super rich friends at a time when the gap
between the people at the top and everyone else is growing rapidly.
Bush has lied to the American people and the Democrats in Congress
repeatedly and frequently about everything including his tax cuts, the war in Iraq, his
budgets, his legislation, and his intentions. The Democrats call it a creditability gap,
but I call it a bunch of damn lies that have deeply harmed America.
The people who still support Bush and think he is
doing a good job need to start rethinking their reasoning based on a growing mountain of
facts. These facts show Bush is only interested in the welfare of a few extremely wealthy
families, and no one else. These wealthy families don't want to pay taxes and they hate
our government because it forces them to pay taxes. Bush is on their side despite the fact
that he is our employee working in our government. I guess that makes him a con-man, and
this con-man has infiltrated our government and is deliberately undermining our
governments fiscal health and our democracy for the benefit of these few mega rich
families. I believe the Constitution calls this treason.
In
my opinion, nothing the Bush administration has done during the past five years has been
good for America, nothing! But, because we have a fraudulent voting
system, because of paperless voting computers that are built by companies who support the
GOP, it's impossible for the American people to vote people like him out of office.
So, I'm not sure what the solution is, but if we do
nothing these few families and their puppets in Congress will continue to rob our
government and undermine our democracy until they have all the money, power, and control.
We need to figure our a way to get these few wealthy families to relocate themselves to
Bermuda and leave us, our government, and economy alone.
