Vote With Your Dollars

bushdollar.jpg (17545 bytes)(5/9/2007) If you care about your country, your children's futures, and your own physical, mental, and financial wellbeing you need to start voting with your dollars. What I mean by "voting with your dollars" is using your purchasing power as a tool to help effect positive change in our government, in your own life, and in the lives of others through boycotts. By boycotting the products and companies on my list you will not only be helping to improve America's political system but you will improve your health, save yourself some money, and send a powerful message to those people in positions of power.

We need to send a message to the few mega wealthy people who are currently dominating our economic and political system. We need to tell them that we are no longer their fools, and that we are informed consumers and proud patriots who are willing to sacrifice many personal desires, habits, and conveniences to help take back our country.

Boycotts are a form of protest, and they are a way to bring about change through coercion. Boycotts require that you abstain buying from, or doing business with, specific people or organizations over a period of time. Our American history is full of examples of successful boycotts, starting with the boycott of British trade goods in 1769 which was a protest about taxation without representation. In 1830 there was a boycott of slave made goods to protest slavery. In 1965 the United Farm Workers Union called for a boycott of grapes and lettuce to protest low wages and bad working conditions. And the examples could go on and on but the point is that boycotts are a powerful and effective tool that the American people have used in the past to bring about progressive change in our law based society, and they can be used again.

During the past 20 years I have been a student of the corruption in our political system and I have reached an conclusion that is obvious to most people in America, and that is "the bad guys are winning and the other 99.9% of the American people are losing". By "bad guys" I mean a bunch of greedy people who have taken advantage of a flaw in our campaign finance system to infiltrate and manipulate our federal government. As a result of these facts our current U.S. Congress is full of a bunch of ass-kissing money-whoring corrupt political puppets who have perverted our laws, robbed our government, undermined our democracy, needlessly sacrificed our soldiers, lied to us, stolen elections, and conspired to comment treason against our government.

These bad guys are the "new" Robber Barons and this time they are playing for keeps. If the American people don't want to lose their country to this group of greedy Robber Barons they need to fight back, and boycotts are a critical step.

The great wealth of America has become highly concentrated into the hands of the top 1% who now own over 95% of everything, and most of that wealth is highly concentrated in the hands of the top .001%. Now that these families own almost everything in America they are eyeing the federal government's sizable assets, which include around 25% of all the land in America. Some of these mega wealthy families want to own our government's $100 trillion dollars in assets and they have figured out a way to buy these assets for pennies on the dollar. They are going to bankrupt our government with massive amounts of debt, crash the dollar, and then pick up the pieces at garage sale prices.

The gap between the people at the top and everyone else has been growing much more rapidly recently due largely to the Bush administration's corrupt economic policies. Bush's big tax cuts for the very rich have been the catalyst for the acceleration of the wealth gap, and a big increase in the federal debt. Bush's constant and unrelenting attempts to repeal the estate tax is an effort to further increase the wealth gap, and would result in the coup de grace to social mobility in America if successful.

Bush's regressive tax law changes, and the demagoguery that was used to sell them to the American people, are clear signs that our political system has been taken over by corrupt, immoral, and greedy individuals. Repeal of the estate tax will be the final nail in the coffin for our democracy, and it will symbolize a blood red carpet leading our country backwards to a monarchy class system in America. America is on its way to becoming another Mexico and most of our politicians are pushing it in that direction with these regressive tax laws.

As a result of the fact that I have been a student of this political corruption for many years, and a victim of the Robber Barons greed sickness for just as long, I have been able to come up with a number of different ideas about how the American people can solve this problem. I will share all these solution ideas with you, but the one we need to focus on right now is boycotts.

My boycott solution is actually a list of the products and companies that should be boycotted by 99.9% of the American people starting immediately. My hope is that even if a small percentage of the American people follow my boycott list it will be enough to motivate many other Americans to join in our cause. As more people begin to recognize the problem we are striving to solve they will start to follow us. It will be this consumer trend that will bring about corrective legislation to stop this new group of Robber Barons, and if legislation is not passed the Robber Barons will be isolated and their businesses bankrupted.

Most Americans don't know, or understand, the history of America and how America's democracy was saved from greedy men two different times. The first time was in 1865 with the victory of the Union Army over the Confederate Army. The plantation owners of the south wanted to perpetuate their wealth monopolies and they did this with slavery and by keeping the rest of the population uneducated and poor, but in the end they lost the Civil War and our democracy was saved.

The second time our democracy was saved was in 1913 with the passage of the sixteenth amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It was this constitutional amendment that stopped the Robber Barons dead in their tracks. Had this law not been past, a law that allowed for a highly progressive income tax system and an estate tax, the Robber Barons would have bought every inch of America. They would have effectively transformed our democracy into a monarchy, and as a result Germany would probably be the top military and economic power in the world today. Luckily, our forefathers had the wisdom and guts to stand up to these successful capitalist and once again our democracy was saved.

If we succeed in saving our democracy this time it will be the third time the brightest and bravest Americans have come together to act on behalf of the greatest form of government ever devised by mankind.

This new group of Robber Barons have learned some lessons from the old group of Robber Barons. This time they control the media and they have thoroughly infiltrated both political parties. It is through these corrupt political parties and sinister media companies that they have been working at robbing our government, undermining our democracy, subverting our legal system, and manipulating the American people.

These Robber Barons not only control both political parties and most of the major media companies but they also control most of the other big corporations in America. If the American people fail to recognize and react to this reality with boycotts against the Robber Baron's businesses our democracy will be doomed, the middle class will soon be history, and the "trail of tears" will be from our own eyes.

The good news is they have not won yet, thanks to some honest and honorable senators and congressman, and therefore the American people still have a good chance of taking their country back from these Robber Barons and their corrupt politicians. If we act now and fight back forcefully we can take back our country, and I'm going to tell you how to do it with boycotts, and a few other tricks.

First, everyone should begin immediate boycotts of the products, companies, and individuals on my boycott list (see Boycott List). Second, everyone should read, printout, sign, and then mail a letter to our top military leaders asking them to help us save America's democracy (see Sample Letter). Third, everyone should start getting ready to fight the organized criminals who are currently robbing our government, undermining our democracy, manipulating the American people, and wasting our soldier's lives in Iraq by reading my free online book "FIGHT" (see Fight Guide). Finally, everyone should explain to your family, friends, and anyone else who will listen what is happening in our federal government so that they will understand why you are going to fight the existing power structure.
