The "trickle down" theory is just another phony excuse invented by
the Republicans to justify giving tax cuts to the rich. This theory says that if you give
big tax cuts to the wealthiest people in our society some of that additional wealth will
trickle down to everyone else. But, what happens in reality is that these wealthy
individuals don't spend that money, they don't give it way, they don't invest it with
small investors, but they do use that money to buy more stocks, bonds, and real estate,
and not necessarily in America. In other words, they just horde that money and nothing
trickles down.
The trickle down theory is a lot like the
Republicans "Laufer Curve" that was developed under President Reagan.
The Laufer Curve claimed that if you cut taxes tax revenues would increase. That's like
saying, "If you take a cut in pay your overall income will actually increase.",
and that is obviously absurd. But I'm sure the rich were laughing all the way to the bank.
Steve Forbes was recently in Dallas selling his
"flat tax" idea, which is just another regressive tax plan designed to benefit
billionaires. He claims that the poor won't have to pay any income taxes under his plan,
and the middle class will get a tax cut. So I guess that means the rich will pick up the
tab; I don't think so. If hearing an inheritance rich billionaire begging for a tax cut
wasn't so pathetic it would be laughable.
The Republicans will make any excuse or
tell any lie to trick the American people into believing that tax cuts for the rich are
really good for them. In other words, they are all just a bunch of lying, greedy con-men
who are whoring themselves for a handful of mega-rich fascist pigs and they don't care one
ioda about us.
The reality is that tax cuts for the rich
are very very bad for 99.9% of the American people. Tax cuts for the rich make our tax
system even more regressive than it already is, and this undermines our democracy because
it allows the concentration of wealth, opportunity, and rights into the hands of fewer and
fewer people.
Our forefather created a highly progressive
tax system in order to protect our democracy from a group of wealthy individuals, the
Robber Barons, who were trying to undermine it so that they could have more wealth for
themselves. Our forefathers wisely put in place a highly progressive tax system before
these Robber Barons were able to buy up every inch of land in America. Had they not done
so our economy and society would be a mirror image of the economy and society in Mexico.
In Mexico the system of government is completely
corrupt because all the land is owned by about 40 families and everyone else lives off
their crumbs. That is why millions of Mexicans seek across our borders every year to find
jobs in America.
Our government currently has a debt of over
$7.8 trillion dollars and George W. Bush has it rising by around $.7
trillion per year. Interest cost on that debt is over $1 billion per
day, and it is only that low because interest rates are low. Who is going to repay that
debt? Who is paying the interest cost of that much debt? How much more debt can our
government take on before its bankrupt? How high do interest rates need to rise before our
government is insolvent?
The
Republican party is planning on making the middle class pay that debt over the remainder
of human time. That debt is just a tool that is being used to allow the wealth of America,
our government's real estate assets and national treasures, to be transferred from our
government to the wealthy elite. This plan works by running up such huge national debts
that it will be necessary for our government to sell off it's assets to meet it's debt
service obligations; interest payments. Once these assets have been sold off for pennies
on the dollar, assets that really belong to all the American people, a small number of
super wealthy families will have complete ownership over everything in America and the
rest of us can learn how to live like Mexicans; poor and with no government representation
and no social safety nets.
Based on what I know about these wealthy
fascist pigs, who are behind this treasonous plan to bankrupt our government, we will be
in much worse shape than the people who live in Mexico. These treasonous criminals are
ugly, cruel, and cut-throat. Their greed and paranoia will turn our lives into a living
hell.
The bottom line is that Bush and the Republicans in
Congress have become the ruthless whores for a small group of trust fund mega-rich kids
and their shyster lawyers/fund managers who are conspiring together to rob our government
and undermine our democracy so that they can have more wealth, and total power over our
government and legal system.
The question we must ask ourselves is,
"Are we going to take it, or are we going to fight?". Should we be
willing to die on our feet rather than live on our knees? If we are going to fight we need
to start right now, because their plan is designed to continue to weaken our ability to
fight back.
If these fascist succeed in robbing our
government and transforming our democracy into a plutocracy, which it looks like they
will, we must make sure their victory is bitter sweet by holding them accountable in a
fashion that is as ugly as they are.
Personally, I say "Hell yes, lets fight
these thieving fascist pig bastards because hell is where they belong.", and the
sooner the better.
