The Difference Between Republicans And Democrats
by Chris M. Fick (8/20/2008)

bushrepdem.jpg (6982 bytes)The differences between the Republican Party and Democratic Party are very obvious to me, and I hope they will be more obvious to you after you read this article. Personally, I don't trust either party, but since we only have two choices in most elections I believe we need to pick the lesser of the two evils and then put pressure on that party to address our concerns.

I started out believing the Republican Party was the party that best represented my interest, but then I witnessed how the Reagan administration lied constantly, added two trillion dollars to the national debt, cut social programs for the middle class families, shifted the tax burden from the very rich to middle class workers, rolled back regulations and environmental protections, and appointed corrupt individuals to high level position in the federal government. Both Bush administrations have continued Reagan's policies.

These three Republican administrations have proven that the Republican Party is not conservative, cannot be trusted, and is working to undermine and rob the federal government. If we allow Republicans to remain in power they will bankrupt the federal government, crash the value of the dollar, squeeze the middle class downwards, take away our rights and freedoms, concentrate wealth into the hands of a few inheritance rich families, and shred the Constitution. I know they will do these things because they are already doing these things and we have not given them a good enough reason to change their ways.

It was Reagan's policies, actions, words, and results that caused me to re-think my support for the Republican Party, and the Bush's have reinforced my decision to become a Democrat. I realize the Democratic Party is also corrupt, but I believe it is the lesser of two evils. Therefore, the Democratic Party is the one I will continue to support and it is the one I'm attempting to change back into a party that represents the interest of average working Americans.

The Clinton administration confirmed my belief that the Democratic Party is the lesser of two evils when it reversed some of Reagan's regressive tax law changes by adding a couple more tax brackets, raising the top tax rate, and closing some tax loopholes. These changes, plus some "pay as you go" spending controls, turned the huge and growing budget deficits into a balanced budget. I hear some Democrats say that there was actually a budget surplus, but according to the CBO debt numbers there never was a surplus. However, the debt numbers clearly show that the Democrats under Clinton were far more fiscally conservative than the Republicans under Reagan or the Bush's.

As a result of my close observations of both parties over the past forty years I now have a much better understanding of the two party system and how both parties are playing us for fools. However, it is the Republican Party that is treating us like we are all just a bunch of ignorant punk-ass-bitches and therefore they are the party who's treasonous ideology must be exposed and stopped before it's too late.

The Republican Party believes the federal government should be small and ruled by the wealthy elite. The type of government they are advocating is not a democracy but it is a plutocracy, and the methods they are using to achieve their goals are fascist and criminal.

The Democratic Party believes the federal government should be big and ruled by elected representatives. The type of government they desire is the type our Constitution gives us, a democratic republic, and the methods they are using to achieve their goals are conservative.

Currently, neither party is representing the interest of liberals and that is a shame because liberal ideals promote freedom, human rights, worker's rights, a clean environment, and greater economic opportunities for all Americans. However, there is almost no difference between Republican and Democratic voters except their perceptions about where the two parties stand on issues like abortion, gun control, taxes, state's rights, prayer in school, military spending, deficits, and Social Security, and their perceptions are often wrong. Their perceptions are not wrong because large numbers of the American people are ignorant, but they are wrong because the politicians are often lying to us. Also, the major media companies, which are owned by the wealthy elites, have been perpetuating the lies by spinning the facts, or by just ignoring the facts.

The difference between the two parties is no longer between conservative and liberal ideals, but it's between conservative and extremist ideals. The Democrats in Congress have become fiscal and social conservatives and have completely abandoned their liberal roots. These facts became obvious during the Clinton administration with conservative fiscal policies that help bring down the deficit. The Republicans in Congress, on the other hand, have become fiscal liars and social hypocrites, and have completely abandon their conservative roots. These facts became obvious during the Reagan administration, and both Bush administrations, with budgets that have ballooned the federal debt to over $10 trillion dollars.

bushtaxchart.jpg (7944 bytes)The current extremist ideology of the Republican Party is corrupt and immoral, and is based on lies, greed, and paranoia. When the Republicans are in power it's like an Orwellian, or Machiavellian, nightmare for people like me who have studied the facts.

The Republican's current ideology clearly believes in helping the rich and screwing the middle class and the poor. This extremist ideology is bankrupting our federal government, wasting our soldier's lives, concentrating our country's wealthy into the hands of a few, damaging our environment, and undermining our democratic republic. They are doing all these things for the benefit of a few mega rich families who are multi-national in the scope of their business dealings. These people don't care about the American people, but they do care about gold and about how to get more of it.

The Republicans lie to the American people about their legislation and then after their legislation becomes law and the bad results become a major news event they try to pass the blame by pointing their fingers at the Democrats. Take the federal debt as an example. When the Republicans are accused of ballooning the federal debt they immediately start talking about the Democrats spending plans and BIG government programs. By consistently practicing this debating style they are confusing voters by changing the subject with distractions, and these distractions are often presented in a way that distorts the actual facts which confuses voters even more.

The Republicans even give their legislation names that are deliberately deceptive, like their 2006 budget document called "The Deficit Reduction Act" that actually increased the total federal debt during that budget time frame.

The Republicans are baiting voters with a conservative ideology and Christian values, but then they switch to a fascist ideology and immoral sociopathic values when it comes to writing and passing legislation. This type of bait and switch fascist ideology is threatening our freedoms, economic opportunities, government assets, and democracy, and it's dragging the Democratic Party down with it.

footballss.jpg (13853 bytes)To help you understand how this Republican ideology is dragging down the Democratic Party and the differences between the two parties consider this analogy. A small town has two high school football teams. One team, "The Reds", is located in a more affluent part of town with a higher property tax base allowing its football team to have nicer equipment, a nicer stadium, more coaches, etc. The other team, "The Blues", is located in a poorer part of town and they have fewer resources to give to their team. However, both teams have the same number of students to draw from, the same level of parent and student support, and the same desire to win.

The Red team has a head coach who will do anything to win including paying bribes, spying, forging fake birth certificates, passing students who are really failing, drugging players, and teaching his team how to play dirty to gain an advantage. The Blue team, on the other hand, has a coach who believes education comes first and sports second, and that winning is only great if you play fairly and honestly. He teaches his players that doing the right thing, working hard, and playing by the rules is where the greatest rewards in life come from.

Well, as you might expect the Reds constantly and consistently beat the Blues. However, because the Red team plays dirty the players on the Blue team become angry and by half-time fights are breaking out all over the field. As a result of the Red team's dirty play, and the way the Blue team reacts, both teams end up operating on a much lower level of sportsmanship. In other words, the bad team drags the good team down to its level.

politicalfundss.jpg (25833 bytes)I believe that the Republican Party is the dirty playing red team and their foul play is dragging the less corrupt Democratic Party down with it. The Republican Party will lie, cheat, steal, and kill to get what they want, and this behavior has the Democratic Party playing constant defense. The result is that a lot of awful Republican legislation gets passed that is harmful to the vast majority of the American people. The Democrats are usually only able temper the greed of the Republican's backwards legislation with frivolous amendments and expose' speeches that the vast majority of the American people never hear.

President Bush, his administration officials, and the Republicans in Congress are not the only people to blame for their fraudulent victories. The people who fund and advise the Republican Party are at the root of the Party's greedy, corrupt, and immoral legislation. And the big media corporations that fail to expose their sinister legislation and corrupt methods are also responsible and should be held accountable by the American people with boycotts, protest, and acts of civil disobedience.

Bushdebtchart.jpg (9784 bytes)Therefore, if the American people want to remain self-governors in a free society where there are lots of opportunities to move up the economic ladder, and where most people live in the middle class, they need to wake up to the reality that the GOP has been taken over by a small number of mega rich organized criminals who are robbing our government and undermining our democracy. They need to know that these few greedy and evil people have taken over our government with the help of their corrupt puppet money whores in the Republican Party, and that these same people also give money to the Democrats.

If we want to take back our government we need to fight back at their low level of sportsmanship, and that means fighting fire with fire. If we fail to hold these treasonous fascist criminals accountable we will continue to see our government robbed, our democracy undermined, our Social Security retirement assets looted, our soldiers used as expendable pawns, and the American people pushed down into the lower class and lower standard of living working longer hours for less pay.

revolution2.jpg (6177 bytes)Thomas Jefferson said "The tree of liberty must me refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants". Chairman Mao said "Democracy is achieved through the barrel of a gun". Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy said "If we do not attack organized crime with weapons and techniques as effective as their own, they will destroy us.", and here we are almost 40 years after Kennedy was assassinated watching helplessly as these fascist organized criminals steal elections, rob our government, and undermine our democracy.

It's time to start fighting back, or to learn how to live on your knees in silence. It's up to you to learn how to fight back and my website is designed to help teach you those skills and motivate you to act. You can start fighting back by boycotting the politicians, individuals, and corporations that are funding the Republican Party's corrupt ideology (see Boycott List). If boycotts don't work we will bust their balls with protests and acts of civil disobedience until they cower in shame.
