Oops, More Freudian Slips From Bush
(10/6/2005)
Today our treasonous president, George W. Bush, gave a speech in an attempt to build
support for his phony war on terror. However, what actually happened was that he gave a
speech full of Freudian statements, contrarian indicators, and lies.
A Freudian statement is one where someone says something
negative about someone else when their criticism is really true about themselves. The
speech Bush gave today was full of these types of Freudian self-critical exposes'
statements, and it motivated me to write about him.
Contrarian indicators (CI), are people who expose the correct
course of action by inverting the meaning of what they are saying. People who are
considered good CI become more clear over time as their habit of finding the wrong
solutions, giving incorrect answers, and recommending the worse course of actions
correlate with the opposite results. Bush has proven himself to be an excellent CI over
the years. For example, when Bush says "taxes should be cut" what that
really means is that taxes should not be cut, and maybe even that taxes should be
increased. In today's speech Bush unwittingly told us what we should do by telling us what
we should not do, and vise versa.
People who consistently make Freudian statement, and who are
good CI, are not necessarily liars or bad people. However, in Bush's case he is both.
With that psychological basis in understanding lets examine
Bush's speech and see what we can learn. Following are quotes from Bush's mouth followed
by my interpretation of what he should of said, or my editorializing:
Quote:
"In this new century, freedom is once again
assaulted by enemies determined to roll back generations of democratic progress. Once
again, we're responding to a global campaign of fear with a global campaign of freedom."
Truth:
"We're responding to global freedom with a global campaign of fear. We
(the GOP), are the enemies of freedom and are determined to roll back generations of
democratic progress."
Quote:
"Recently our country observed the fourth
anniversary of a great evil, and looked back on a great turning point in our history....We
will confront this mortal danger to all humanity. We will not tire, or rest, until the war
on terror is won."
Truth:
"We're approaching the sixth anniversary of a great evil moving into the White
House and we can look back to see the proof......We must stop this evil cancerous growth
in our government otherwise we will all be in mortal danger. We will not tire, or rest,
until these evil people are out of our government and behind bars where they belong."
Quote:
"....the killers choose their victims
indiscriminately, their attacks serve a clear and focused ideology, a set of beliefs and
goals that are evil, but not insane."
Truth:
Our government is killing people in Iraq who had nothing to do with 9/11, or any other
terrorist action. Bush's attack against the innocent exposes a focused ideology, a set of
beliefs and goals that really are evil, but not insane, just sick neo-con criminality.
Quote:
"Some call this evil Islamic radicalism; others,
militant Jihadism; still others, Islamo-fascism. Whatever it's called, this ideology is
very different from the religion of Islam. This form of radicalism exploits Islam to serve
a violent, political vision: the establishment, by terrorism and subversion and
insurgency, of a totalitarian empire that denies all political and religious freedom.
These extremists distort the idea of jihad into a call for terrorist murder against
Christians and Jews and Hindus -- and also against Muslims from other traditions, who they
regard as heretics."
Truth:
"Some call this evil compassionate conservatism; others, American militant
fascism; still others, right-wing Republican terrorism. Whatever it's called, this
ideology is very different from the religion of Christianity. This form of radicalism
exploits Christianity to serve a violent, political visions: the establishment, by wars,
theft, lies, corruption, exploitation, bankruptcy, and subversion, into a totalitarian
empire that denies all political and economic freedom.....We (the people in the Bush
administration) are the treasonous destroyers of democracy."
Quote:
"Many militants are part of global, borderless
terrorist organizations like al Qaeda, which spreads propaganda, and provides financing
and technical assistance to local extremists, and conducts dramatic and brutal operations
like September the 11th."
Truth:
"Many elected Republicans are part of global, borderless criminal organization
called the GOP, which spreads propaganda, and provides financing and technical assistance
to other right-wing fascist criminals, and conducts dramatic and brutal operations like
Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, the assassinations of popular leaders."
Quote:
"We know the vision of the radicals because they've
openly stated it -- in videos, and audiotapes, and letters, and declarations, and
websites. First, these extremists want to end American and Western influence in the
broader Middle East, because we stand for democracy and peace, and stand in the way of
their ambitions....Their tactic to meet this goal has been consistent for a
quarter-century: They hit us, and expect us to run."
Truth:
"We know the vision of the GOP because we have witnessed it during the past five
years they have been in control of our government. First, these extremist want to end the
American people's right to vote because they don't care what they want or think, and they
stand in the way of the GOP's corrupt ambitions. Second, they want to transfer $100
trillion dollars in government owned assets, assets that belong to the American people, to
their rich friends down in Texas because they are just money whores for a group of wealthy
Texas based thieves.....Their tactics to meet these goals has been consistent for a
quarter-century since JFK was murdered in Dallas, and since the Nixon administration's war
in Vietnam: They lie to us, rob our government, and will try to run us out of America just
like the Jews in Israel have been doing to the Palestinians for a quarter-century."
Quote:
"The terrorists regard Iraq as the central front in
their war against humanity. And we must recognize Iraq as the central front in our war on
terror."
Truth:
"The terrorist in the White House regard the American government as the central
front in their war against humanity. And we must recognize the GOP as the central front in
our war to save ourselves and our democratic government." The GOP wants to kill
Uncle Sam and we cannot allow that to happen because we are all Uncle Sam.
Quote:
"Some might be tempted to dismiss these goals as
fanatical or extreme. Well, they are fanatical and extreme -- and they should not be
dismissed. Our enemy is utterly committed.....Evil men, obsessed with ambition and
unburdened by conscience, must be taken very seriously -- and we must stop them before
their crimes can multiply."
Truth:
"We in the GOP are fanatical and extreme -- and we should not be dismissed.
We are utterly committed to bankrupting the U.S. government and controlling the American
people. I'm an evil man, obsessed with ambition and unburdened by my own conscience and I
must be stopped before my crimes can multiply."
Quote:
"Defeating the militant network is difficult,
because it thrives, like a parasite, on the suffering and frustration of others. The
radicals exploit local conflicts to build a culture of victimization, in which someone
else is always to blame and violence is always the solution. They exploit resentful and
disillusioned young men and women, recruiting them through radical mosques as the pawns of
terror. And they exploit modern technology to multiply their destructive power. Instead of
attending faraway training camps, recruits can now access online training libraries to
learn how to build a roadside bomb, or fire a rocket-propelled grenade -- and this further
spreads the threat of violence, even within peaceful democratic societies."
Truth:
"Defeating the GOP and its supporters is difficult, because it thrives, like a
parasite, on the suffering, frustration, and tax dollars of the middle class. (Note:
Today Bush threatened to veto a defense bill because it contained an amendment
(McCain-Graham) that would outlaw torture. This amendment was supported by over 90
Senators.) The GOP exploits conflicts to build a culture of victimization, in
which someone else is always to blame and violence is always the solution. The GOP
exploits ignorant, brainwashed, and brain damaged young men and women, recruiting them
through high schools in poor communities as the pawns of their phony war on terror and as
proxies to fight the enemy of the Jews. Instead of using our far superior technology to
kill our enemies our young men and women are sent half way around the globe to die face
down in the desert for a conflict that is based on a lie, and on greed, and is being
managed incompetently. The internet and all educational resources threaten the GOP's
fascist agenda because the truth is like Domiciles Sword dangling over the head of their
thieving fascist corrupt ideology."
Quote:
"The influence of Islamic radicalism is also
magnified by helpers and enablers. They have been sheltered by authoritarian regimes,
allies of convenience like Syria and Iran, that share the goal of hurting America and
moderate Muslim governments, and use terrorist propaganda to blame their own failures on
the West and America, and on the Jews. These radicals depend on front operations, such as
corrupted charities which direct money to terrorist activity.
Truth:
"The influence of GOP radicalism is also magnified by helpers and enablers in the
media, military industrial complex, UK, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and in the Democratic Party.
These corrupt groups share the GOP goals of undermining America's democracy and
bankrupting the U.S. federal government, and use the war on terrorism propaganda to blame
their corrupt activities on the innocent people of Iraq, Syria, North Korea, Iran, and
other anti-Semites. These right-wing extremist depend on wealthy Texas backers to fund
their political parties and to reward them for their corrupt services."
Quote:
"We're facing a radical ideology with inalterable
objectives: to enslave whole nations and intimidate the world. No act of ours invited the
rage of the killers -- and no concession, bribe, or act of appeasement would change or
limit their plans for murder."
Truth:
"We're practicing a radical ideology with financial objectives: to concentrate
wealth, bankrupt the U.S. government, enslave American workers, and intimidate the world.
All of our actions invited the rage of the 9/11 killers -- and nothing short of death will
alter our plans for world domination."
Quote:
"Like the ideology of communism, Islamic radicalism
is elitist, led by a self-appointed vanguard that presumes to speak for the Muslim masses.
Bin Laden says his own role is to tell Muslims, quote, "what is good for them and
what is not." And what this man who grew up in wealth and privilege considers good
for poor Muslims is that they become killers and suicide bombers. He assures them that his
-- that this is the road to paradise -- though he never offers to go along for the ride.
Truth:
Just substitute Bush's name for Bin Laden, GOP radicalism for Islamic radicalism, and
American for Muslims and you come much closer to reality.
Quote:
"Like the ideology of communism, our new enemy
teaches that innocent individuals can be sacrificed to serve a political vision. And this
explains their cold-blooded contempt for human life."
Truth:
Do you remember Bush's cold-blooded contempt for human life when he mocked the pleas of a
woman about to be put to death in Texas? What about Bush's ideology that sent nearly 2000
American boys to die in Iraq based on a lie about WMDs, and a lie about Iraq's part in
9/11.
Quote:
"When 25 Iraqi children are killed in a bombing, or
Iraqi teachers are executed at their school, or hospital workers are killed caring for the
wounded, this is murder, pure and simple -- the total rejection of justice and honor and
morality and religion."
Truth:
Since Bush's war in Iraq has already killed over 100,000 Iraqi citizens what does that say
about him? Where is his justice, honor, morality, and religion?
Quote:
"Like the ideology of communism, our new enemy
pursues totalitarian aims. Its leaders pretend to be an aggrieved party, representing the
powerless against imperial enemies. In truth they have endless ambitions of imperial
domination, and they wish to make everyone powerless except themselves. Under their rule,
they have banned books, and desecrated historical monuments, and brutalized women. They
seek to end dissent in every form, and to control every aspect of life, and to rule the
soul, itself. While promising a future of justice and holiness, the terrorists are
preparing for a future of oppression and misery."
Truth:
This statement is the most Freudian of them all. He is telling us the GOP's sick plans for
our future.
Quote:
".....it is courage in the cause of freedom that
once again will destroy the enemies of freedom. (Applause.)"
Truth:
Here Bush is unwittingly telling us (freedom fighters) to have courage as we fight his
fascist ideology.
Quote:
"We didn't ask for this global struggle, but we're
answering history's call with confidence, and a comprehensive strategy."
Truth:
"We didn't ask terrorist from Saudi Arabia to attack us on 9/11, but we're
answering by ignoring the real terrorist and killing the Jew haters in Iraq with
confidence, and with an in-comprehensible strategy that is costing the American taxpayers
$7 billion dollars a month and over two U.S. soldiers lives per day."
Quote:
"First, we're determined to prevent the attacks of
terrorist networks before they occur. We're reorganizing our government to give this
nation a broad and coordinated homeland defense. We're reforming our intelligence agencies
for the incredibly difficult task of tracking enemy activity, based on information that
often comes in small fragments from widely scattered sources, here and abroad. We're
acting, along with the governments from many countries, to destroy the terrorist networks
and incapacitate their leaders."
Truth:
"First, we're determined to prevent a non-GOP person from ever getting into the
White House again. We're reorganizing our government by bankrupting the federal government
and concentrating wealth into the hands of a few right-wing capitalist in Texas. We're
reforming our intelligence agencies for the task of tracking every American citizen so
they don't kill us, or our sugar daddies down in Dallas. We're acting, along with
co-conspirators in other countries, to destroy America's democracy and kill any serious
political opposition. We're the real enemy of democracy and freedom, and we're in control.
Quote:
"We will not relent until the organized
international terror networks are exposed and broken, and their leaders held to account
for their acts of murder."
Truth:
Once again Bush is unwittingly telling us what he has done and what we need to do stop
him.
Quote:
"The United States makes no distinction between
those who commit acts of terror and those who support and harbor them, because they're
equally as guilty of murder. (Applause.)"
Truth:
"The people of the United States make no distinction between those who commit
acts of treason (the Bush administration) and those who support and harbor them (the GOP
and their financial backers), because they're equally as guilty of treason. (Big
Applause.)"
Quote:
"Area by area, city by city, we're conducting
offensive operations to clear out enemy forces, and leaving behind Iraqi units to prevent
the enemy from returning. Within these areas, we're working for tangible improvements in
the lives of Iraqi citizens."
Truth:
Based on this statement you would think that we are doing a good job winning the hearts
and minds of the Iraqi people, however, the evidence points in the exact opposite
direction. The Iraqi units we leave behind are turning into insurgents, or are killed by
other Iraqi insurgents. Before we attacked Iraq to give them freedom and democracy the
people of Iraq had the number one education system, the best health care system, the most
reliable electrical system, and cleanest water system in the Middle East. We have
destroyed these people's civilization and Bush tells us that were improving their lives.
Based on that logic I think it's high time we worked to improve Bush's life.
Quote:
"The terrorists are as brutal an enemy as we've
ever faced. They're unconstrained by any notion of our common humanity, or by the rules of
warfare. No one should underestimate the difficulties ahead, nor should they overlook the
advantages we bring to this fight."
Truth:
"The Bush administration are as brutal an enemy that America's democracy has ever
faced. They're unconstrained by any notion of loyalty, or by the U.S. Constitution. No one
should underestimate the difficulties ahead, nor should they overlook the advantages we
bring to this civil war."
Quote:
"Some observers look at the job ahead and adopt a
self-defeating pessimism. It is not justified. With every random bombing and with every
funeral of a child, it becomes more clear that the extremists are not patriots, or
resistance fighters -- they are murderers at war with the Iraqi people, themselves."
Truth:
Once again Bush unwittingly is telling us to fight the GOP's corrupt and fascist ideology.
"With every tax dollar that is wasted and every U.S. soldier that is killed, it
becomes more clear the the Bush extremists are not patriots, or conservatives -- they are
evil fascist at war with the American people, themselves."
Quote:
"Some observers also claim that America would be
better off by cutting our losses and leaving Iraq now. This is a dangerous illusion,
refuted with a simple question: Would the United States and other free nations be more
safe, or less safe, with Zarqawi and bin Laden in control of Iraq, its people, and its
resources? Having removed a dictator who hated free peoples, we will not stand by as a new
set of killers, dedicated to the destruction of our own country, seizes control of Iraq by
violence."
Truth:
In this statement Bush is distorting the facts to try and gain support of his immoral
actions against the people of Iraq. He posses an absurd question and then paints dictators
with a broad brush as people who hate "free peoples". Down here in Texas we have
a saying for this type of phony rhetoric; "Don't piss on my boots and tell me
it's raining.".
Quote:
"There's always a temptation, in the middle of a
long struggle, to seek the quiet life, to escape the duties and problems of the world, and
to hope the enemy grows weary of fanaticism and tired of murder. This would be a pleasant
world, but it's not the world we live in. The enemy is never tired, never sated, never
content with yesterday's brutality. This enemy considers every retreat of the civilized
world as an invitation to greater violence. In Iraq, there is no peace without victory. We
will keep our nerve and we will win that victory. (Applause.)"
Truth:
Once again Bush is unwitting telling us to keep fighting him at every opportunity. "In
America, there is no peace with a Republican in the White House. We will keep our nerve
and we will win against these GOP fascist. (Big Applause.)"
Quote:
"America is making this stand in practical ways.
We're encouraging our friends in the Middle East, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, to
take the path of reform, to strengthen their own societies in the fight against terror by
respecting the rights and choices of their own people. We're standing with dissidents and
exiles against oppressive regimes, because we know that the dissidents of today will be
the democratic leaders of tomorrow. We're making our case through public diplomacy,
stating clearly and confidently our belief in self-determination, and the rule of law, and
religious freedom, and equal rights for women, beliefs that are right and true in every
land, and in every culture. (Applause.)"
Truth:
"The American people must make a stand against the Bush administration in every
way possible. We must encourage our friends in Europe and Asia to help us fight back
against these evil fascist in the Bush administration, and to strengthen their own
societies against these right-wing extremist who seek to concentrate wealth and
opportunity into the hands of a few corrupt families. We need to put ourselves into the
shoes of the innocent people of Iraq, Palestine, and Mexico who are poor, oppressed,
and powerless so that we will never be standing in their shoes for real." Finally,
Bush's sums things up by telling us what his administration has not done, and is not
doing.
Quote:
"The time has come for all responsible Islamic
leaders to join in denouncing an ideology that exploits Islam for political ends, and
defiles a noble faith."
Truth:
"The time has come for all responsible democratic leaders of the world to join
the American people in denouncing the corrupt fascist ideology of the Bush administration
that exploits Christianity for political ends, and defiles a noble faith."
Quote:
"Many people of the Muslim faith are proving their
commitment at great personal risk. Everywhere we have engaged the fight against extremism,
Muslim allies have stood up and joined the fight, becoming partners in a vital
cause....These brave citizens know the stakes -- the survival of their own liberty, the
future of their own region, the justice and humanity of their own tradition -- and that
United States of America is proud to stand beside them. (Applause.)"
Truth:
"Many people of the Christian faith are proving their commitment at great person
risk. Everywhere we must engage the fight against the extremist in the Bush
administration. Christian allies can stand up and join the fight, becoming partners in a
vital cause that is freedom and democracy. These brave citizens know the stakes -- the
survival of their own liberty, the future of their own government, the justice and
humanity of their own legal system, and the right to practice the religion of their
choice. We must stand proud as Americans or the Bush administration will force us to live
on our knees, and maybe die on their meathooks. (Big Applause.)"
Quote:
"Throughout history, tyrants and would-be tyrants
have always claimed that murder is justified to serve their grand vision -- and they end
up alienating decent people across the globe. Tyrants and would-be tyrants have always
claimed that regimented societies are strong and pure -- until those societies collapse in
corruption and decay. Tyrants and would-be tyrants have always claimed that free men and
women are weak and decadent -- until the day that free men and women defeat them."
Truth:
Once again Bush is unwittingly calling himself a tyrant and a murder. He is encouraging us
to defeat him and his right-wing ideology to secure our freedoms and the freedoms of
future generations.
Quote:
"We don't know the course of our own struggle --
the course our own struggle will take -- or the sacrifices that might lie ahead. We do
know, however, that the defense of freedom is worth our sacrifice. We do know the love of
freedom is the mightiest force of history. And we do know the cause of freedom will once
again prevail.
May God bless you. (Applause.)"
Truth:
"We know that if we do nothing to stop the GOP our children and grand-children
will struggle, suffer, and pay for the sacrifice we did not make. We also know that we
have another choice, the Democratic Party. We love our children, our country, our
freedoms, and our government and it is worth our sacrifice to save them all. The GOP has
had our prayers and our dreams in the palms of their hands for the past six years and they
have failed us again and again. It is time to make some sacrifices to take our government
back. We can do better and we will do better when the GOP is back in the minority. May you
bless yourself because God gave you life. (Big Applause.)"
President Bush took a golden opportunity
to give us the facts and tell us his plan, but instead he tried to shove a bunch of
nebulous generalities down our throats. His hateful threatening words in this speech, and
his actions, and lack of actions, since taking office paint a picture of an evil ideology
being pushed forward by evil men who think they have nothing to lose. So far it has been
the American people on the losing end of this anti-democratic ideology, but that was
yesterday.
