Don't you find it amazing that these Republicans want to
spend limitless amounts of money in Iraq, over $300 billion so far, and yet when it comes
to spending a few billion on programs that benefit the American people they won't even
consider it, or they consider it unnecessary, waste, fraud, and abuse?
In my opinion
the real unnecessary, waste, fraud, and abuse are the members of the GOP currently serving
in our federal government. They are pissing on our shoes while telling us it's
raining.
I find it more than a bit ironic that the federal debt goes
over the $8 trillion dollar mark within the same 24 hour period that the Senate
Republicans turn down an amendment from the Democrats to increase the minimum wage by
$1.10 per hour over a two year period. The same day that Bush's "bi-partisan"
Tax Reform Commission recommends big tax breaks for the very wealth and a further shifting
of the federal tax burden onto the backs of the middle class. The same day that another
one of our soldiers is killed in Iraq. The same day that the disgusting liar Condi Rice
tells Senators that we may need to be Iraq for 10 more years at a cost of several hundred
billion more dollars and thousands of more U.S. soldiers lives. The same day that the
stock market swings radically way down and then way up, and now way down. The same day
that the Dallas Morning News reports that Dallas billionaire, Ray Hunt, wants, and will
get, the Dallas City Council to give him millions in tax abatements and a land swap deal
that is an insult to every other taxpayer in Dallas. The same day that Rumsfeld warns
China against further military build-up, which ironically is being financing with our
$450+ annual trade deficit with China. The same day that hurricane Wilma is recorded as
the strongest hurricane ever in the Atlantic, and is headed our way. The same day that
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff testifies about the need for more money and
resources to restructure a unprepared and slow to respond agency. The same day Saddam
Hussein and his pals are on trial in a kangaroo court in Baghdad for their
"crimes", when the truth is the Reagan-Bush administration enabled, armed,
financed, and encouraged Saddam. The same day that the grossly unqualified Supreme Court
nominee, Harriet Miers, makes her extreme anti-abortion stance clear through a
questionnaire she filled out when applying for the Dallas City Council. The same day that
CIA Director, Porter Goss, is in the hot seat for an agency in disarray. And the list
could go on and on.
This one 24 hour period feels like a train wreck into a black
hole. It appears that our government has gone completely haywire and is spinning out of
control. The Republicans have created a figurative fiscal hurricane that is wrecking havoc
on our democracy and our government's fiscal health.
Why are our politicians undermining our democracy, robbing
our government, harming and killing innocent people in Iraq, and treating the American
people like we are all just a bunch of ignorant fools? What additional ugliness and
treachery do they have in store for us next?
Our Republican politicians are lying to us everyday. They are
killing innocent men, women, and children in Iraq who are fighting for their lives, and
then they have the gall to call them "insurgents" when they should be called
"freedom fighters". They use God's name like it is some term that can be tossed
about at will in order to score some political points. They glutton themselves at the
taxpayers expense while claiming they are representing our interest. They cry about
injustice in the tax code so that they can gain support for further shifting the tax
burden onto the backs of hardworking middle class families. They are taking away our
rights and freedoms in the name of fighting terrorist. They are rolling back decades of
environmental protections in the name of economic progress. They constantly complain about
rising health care cost and yet that is the first thing they want to cut to reduce the
federal deficit. They have rolled back anti-cronyism rules and have hired people who are
grossly unqualified, and who often have a history of opposing the agencies they are hired
to run. And the list could go on and on.
The Republicans in Congress are laughing at us behind our
backs. They think we are all just a bunch of stupid naive spineless cowards. They claim
compassion while at the same time they plunge their daggers deeper into the heart of Uncle
Sam.
The GOP's absolute power has corrupted them absolutely. And
the Democrats look like a bunch of impotent outraged puppets dangling from the strings of
their wealthy supporters. And as the GOP's rampant ruthless criminality slowly percolates
up into the public view the public's life boat is slowly sinking down into the depths of a
muted state of misery, despair, and hopelessness. It's like a cruel Greek tragedy, but
it's real and the middle class is the tragic victim and our GOP elected officials are the
cut throat back-stabbing perpetrators.
The GOP says, figurative, "Kill the estate tax, kill
the insurgents, kill the sick birds, kill the middle class, kill our soldiers, kill the
Palestinians, kill Iran, kill Syria, kill North Korea, kill our democracy, kill the poor,
kill the killers, kill the sick, kill the truth, kill the past, kill it all." It
appears that a bunch of killer, eugenics, fascist have taken over our government and are
trying to kill it.
The GOP has replaced honor, respect, integrity, Christian
values, and human values with murder, lies, stealing, cheating, manipulation, graft,
corruption, deception, back-stabbing, hate, blame, and ugliness. The proof of this lack of
a moral compass is in the $8 trillion dollar debt, how it got there, and their solution to
stopping it. They are planning on continuing their effort to help the people who don't
need the help, the very rich, and taking from those who could use some help, everyone
else.
The GOP's efforts to concentrate wealth into the hands of a
few is a danger President Lincoln warned us would destroy our republic.
The GOP takes from the middle class and gives it to the very
rich, while claiming they are doing the opposite.
This type of economic injustice is just the continuation of
the GOP's policies from the Nixon, Reagan, and Bush (I) administrations. They have been
conning us, the American people, while they are robbing our government and undermining our
democracy. But the truth is they don't really have to con us any more because they have
rigged our elections systems with bogus paperless voting computers built by companies like
Diebold, and they have stacked the Supreme Court with activist partisan justices, five of
who put Bush into the White House.
This rapidly growing $8 trillion dollar federal debt is just
the tip of the bloody treasonous iceberg of death and despair the GOP has planned for us.
We cannot allow any more of their plans to succeed, and we must elect new politicians who
will work to reverse everything the GOP has already done.
Prepare yourselves for an all out fight, or teach your
children how to live on their knees inside a cardboard box.
