Television is an addiction few people are able to kick. Personally,
there are a number of television programs I enjoy watching, but all
the commercials made my viewing experience bitter-sweet, so I kicked
the television habit. I now get all my news from the internet and
all my entertainment from rented DVDs.
Corporations and politicians have always used television as a tool
to sell us their products, services, and ideologies. The
entertaining programming is just bait used to hook us into allowing
ourselves to be brainwashed by repetitious advertising. Advertising
that appears somewhat harmless is actually very devious in its
manipulation of the human mind in ways that are far removed from the
commercial's overt content.
And it is not just the commercials that are being used to
manipulated our minds in harmful ways, but the programs (sitcoms)
themselves are often written with horrible dialog immediately
followed by a laugh track. The laugh tracks are added to trick our
minds into thinking that this type of behavior, language, and
attitudes are normal and acceptable.
Our two party system of government keeps third party candidates out
of the televised debates. This insures their continued monopoly
control over our government and our lives. The billions of dollars
the two parties raise from their rich friends each election cycle
are mostly spent on television advertising.
It is this devious television advertising, programming, and
political campaiging that has
the American people's behavior perverted in the following ways:
- We are divided politically when we should be united fighting
the corrupt two parties that are helping the rich rob our
government, allowing corporation to scam consumers, and lining
their own pockets instead of representing our interest.
- We are obese and sick from high-fat, high-sugar, and
high-chemical poisonous diets that are encouraged and promoted
on television.
- We are placated into inaction by politicians who sell fear
from non-existent terrorist and who are in the pockets of the
military-industrial-complex.
- We are tricked into believing material goods and services
are important while the middle class is being destroyed with
cheap imports from China and poor immigrants who flood into the
U.S. unhindered.
- We are shown sex, sexual desires, and sexual perversions to
hook us with this primitive emotion while the things that are
really important to our lives are under-reported or ignored
completely by the mainstream media.
- We are shown handsome people having fun consuming alcohol, diet drinks,
and other poisons so that we might believe we can be like them
if only we consume those unhealthy products.
- Our children are bombarded with fancy multi-million dollar
advertisements for high-sugar and high-fat foods and drinks, and
they are getting sick while the companies that are making and
selling these poisons are getting rich.
- We are forced to choice between two political candidates, a
Republican and a Democrat, and we often end up voting for one
person just because we don't like the other person.
I recommend everyone Boycott all television. Unsubscribe from
your television provider, and boycott all the businesses,
restaurants, and products that do the most television advertising.
