Chocolate is made from the seeds of the cacao tree. The seed nibs are very bitter but are high in antioxidants and are therefore very healthy to consume. The nibs are processed into chocolate by fermenting, drying, cleaning, roasting, and then mixing with sugar, milk, and fat. During this processing most of the parts of the nibs that have a health benefit are destroyed, but the lead is not. The chocolate products available to consumers have very few health benefits, and are probably unhealthy to consume because of all the sugar, dairy, fats, lead, and caffeine.

Two thirds of the world's chocolate is grown along the gold coast of Africa where child labor is very common. Two thirds of the chocolate available in the U.S. comes from two companies, Hershey and Mars, and the rest of the market is dominated by Cadbury, Nestle, Kraft Foods, and Lindt.

Following is a list of companies and products that should be boycotted by all Americans for both political and health reasons:
